During the cold winter months, there’s nothing more comforting than a pair of warm slippers. But not all slippers are created equal. Here for important things you should consider when selecting home footwear. 1. Softer isn’t always better. People usually tend to like soft and fuzzy slippers because they feel nice when you first try them on. However, over time, your feet may start to bother you the lack of structure. What you should look for is a pair with more support and padding – which will benefit you in the long run. Which brings us to 2. Look for a built in arch support, or a removable insole. This will give you the best all-day comfort, especially if you’re on your feet a lot around the house. A removable insole also allows you to insert your custom orthotics, or insoles. 3. Don’t forget about sandals. Wearing supportive sandals around the house is a great alternative to slippers. If it’s too cold, try wearing the socks. We won’t judge! Again, look for a pair of sandals with either a removable insole, or built in arch support. Finally, try to replace your home footwear regularly. Your old pair from 4 to 5 years ago may be convenient, but they’re not offering your feet any benefit. For more information about home footwear, check out the Kintec blog.
