  1. MY GOD!
Popular music in 2019 that is not COMPLETELY devoid of masculinity or depth or singing about things OTHER than love/sex/'my' feelings.
    I LIKE it.
There may be hope yet for the popular music industry.
BTW – kudos to the drummer.

  2. I put the CD in my car radio and for 4 months I only played "Take me to Church". Addicted to a song like a 14-year old girl. 🤗

  3. I don't have time until this weekend to open up a dictionary and understand/decode anything he is saying but for now I will simply vibe with the voice and that GUITARRRRRRR

  4. Im so proud of you Hozier – and well done to Rory on drums. Great Music with a Brain and a Beat. Maith an obair!

  5. Was fortunate enough to hear him play this live earlier this month, if you've never seen him live you're missing a truly amazing experience

  6. Hozier debuting a protest song about police brutality- which explicity mentions violence against indigenous peoples at Standing Rock- on prime US television? Incredible. 🙏👑

    In Moscow the Jackboot show

    For any silly student
Who doesn't wanna learn the score
    So the Moscow Jackboot Ballet

In Hong Kong it won't be long

For the long hand of Beijing
    Stretching south a thousand miles
Where they rock the Jackboot Jump there
Like that shit's going out of style

    All around the world
You'd think that things were looking rough
But the jackboot only jumps down
    On people standing up
So you know good things are happening
When the jackboot needs to jump

  8. I love how open and clearly he speaks about police brutality and injustice in his music and focuses on problems worldwide!
He really uses his platform for good!!

  9. "The jackboot only jumps down on people standing up." That's a standout line for me. Well said in these times (and all times, really) of people speaking out against abusive people in power.

  10. As someone from Hong Kong, I feel so helpless and hopeless seeing the injustice everyday, at least I now have a song to sing about it.

  11. Really digging that guitar riff, has an old school Chicago blues feel to it. Rory also deserves all the love as well for showing some serious skill on those drums!

  12. whos out here doing it like hozier? who else is channelling the anti establishment revolution anthem like hozier! who!!!!

  13. This is the kind of single you release when you are already a millionaire and you have zero fucks to give if anybody likes it.

  14. this man really just performed his most riot-y, anti-establishment song ON NATIONAL PRIMETIME TELEVISION. The absolute balls on this guy, folks, we stan a legend
