Jackets Required TV Presents: Episode 58 – Put Your Best Foot Forward – Shoes)

Welcome to Jacket’s Required, hello, I’m
Dominic Lacquaniti, designer & tailor This week I’m going to help you put your
best foot forward. That’s right, I’m talking about shoes,
particularly for the gents. One of the first things people will notice
about you, believe it or not, is the shoes you are wearing. If you’ve got on out of style or dingy shoes
on, then what does that say about you? It CAN be taken as if you don’t care about
the details of your appearance enough to button up your look with the full head-to-toe ensemble. If someone thinks that, they’ll subconsciously
carry that opinion of you over into other situations or decisions. Trying to land a big new client? Trying to impress a colleague or the boss? Going on a job interview… Or maybe asking out that dream girl? Be sure to show style in EVERYthing you do
AND wear. My tips for this year –
Avoid square toes in your dress shoes. There are so many great options available
– try a few of these out… Cap Toed Oxfords – In this style of shoe
– an extra piece of leather – the so-called toe cap – is added across the toe box, and
they also feature a heel cap. This is the most popular style of shoe worn
with suits across the globe. Wing Tips are a classic and always look fantastic. There’s just something special about the
style of a great wingtip shoe that upgrades whatever look you are going for. Monk Straps – A monk shoe is a style of shoe
with no lacing, closed by a buckle and strap. It is also known as a monk strap, and has
been described as the “most advanced” dress shoe. All of these options bring versatility to
your wardrobe and look great with jeans, suits, and modern casual wear. Plus they’ll say you’re fashion forward,
not stuck in the past. Be sure to Subscribe to the Jacket’s Required

And to see behind the scenes pictures and clips. Share with your stylish, and style-challenged
friends, and be sure to let me know if you have a specific question or topic you’d
like to see in the series. Thanks for watching. See you next week. Remember, looking good is between you and
your tailor… Ciao
